California in a Vase
Even with a last minute change to an online format, our January General Meeting was well attended and much enjoyed. Lucinda McDade, PhD. and Linda Prendergast of CA Botanic Garden presented “California in a Vase”. Linda inspired us as she created two beautiful arrangements, a vase and a centerpiece, using such native plants as maiden fern, CA wild rose, Catalina currant and three types of sage. Lucinda, CA Botanic Garden's Director and plant scientist, explained the plant biology behind the tips and tricks that Linda offered. California Botanic Garden, an 86-acre site at 1500 N College Avenue, Claremont, is an ever changing palate of native trees, shrubs and wildflowers, open Tuesday-Sunday 8am-5pm. CalBG.org
