Garden Club Christmas Luncheon 2021

Our annual Christmas luncheon was held at the beautiful Virginia Country Club on December 8th. The theme, “Joy to the World” blended with the sparkling foyer’s holiday decorations. Pianist, Vince Torbey, played Christmas carols as President Pam McCredie welcomed guests arriving for the festivities. The traditional unwrapped toys brought by members and their guests for the “Spark of Love Toy Drive”, overflowed tables with stuffed animals, toy trucks, footballs, Android tablets, books, dolls and gift cards. Special guest, Long Beach Fire Department Chief Xavier Espino spoke to the ladies at the luncheon. Brian Fisk, Fire Fighter and program Coordinator of the Spark of Love Toy drive also joined the group for lunch and arranged for several Firefighters to pick up the toys which are delivered to various communities on Christmas Day. Barbara Jordan and Linda Frame led the members in carols at the end of the luncheon.
